Fructo-oligosaccharides (FOS) are mixtures of oligosaccharides (GF2, GF3, GF4) consisting of fructose units linked by ß(2-1) bonds. Fructose units terminate these molecules. The total number of fructose or glucose units (degree of polymerization or DP) of fructooligosaccharides is mainly between 2-4. Fructooligosaccharides (FOS), also known as fructooligosaccharides, are not digested and absorbed by the human body but enter the large intestine directly and rapidly promote the reproduction of prebiotics such as bifidobacteria in the intestinal tract, so they are also called fructooligosaccharides. “Bifidus factor.”
